Winnie the Pooh, and Silas Too!
Silas had never been to the movie theater yet, and with the new Winnie the Pooh movie, I just HAD to take him!
You see, Silas and I have spent a lot of time watching the old Winnie the Pooh movies. They are so charming and so dear, often if the movies are running, it captivates any and all adults within the radius of the movie player. They are truly sweet: Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree, the Blustery Day, all good stuff.
The day started off kinda bad. We get to Annapolis Mall where I had either mistakenly misread the location or the internet wasn’t complete with information, but we were told that this was not the movie theater for Winnie the Pooh, but their OTHER movies down the road.
This lead to a mad rush to get Silas to finish his lunch, as we punched in a new and strange address into a GPS on my phone that had never been activated, and we were off. Poor Silas only wanted to finish his french fries and with his one free hand (I had the other one), he held his french fry cup and literally stuck his mouth in the cup to retrieve a fry while running.
We piled into the car (did I mention it was the hottest day of the year so far) only to get to the other Annapolis location and told they were sold out.
Early, a silly Thursday, in the middle of the week and SOLD OUT? Are you kidding me?
Well, I was sort of satisfied that the world was hungry for wholesome entertainment and went with plan C, all the way to Arundel Mills Mall, to the movies I had originally wanted to go to for Silas’s first movie experience.
So three movie cinemas later, we arrived in plenty of time to get our newly potty trained toddler tickets, snacks, drink, a seat, and a trip to the bathroom.
He had time to soak in the Egyptian atmosphere…
Silas watched the whole movie, had a few outbursts of laughter, and seemed totally thrilled with the entire experience.
When we got into the car though, he gave his first critique, “I like the old Winnie the Pooh’s better.”
How cute. I had to agree.
However, even though I am partial to the voice of Sebastian Cabot in the old movies, John Cleese did an excellent job.
