They’re Playing Our Song
Ever have “a song” with someone?
My trip today around the blogsphere took me to “The Art of Getting By’s” request for suggestions on a wedding song.
This was the list of questions:
1. If you’re married, what was your wedding song?
2. If you’re not married, what song would you wish was your wedding song?
3. Do you have any suggestions for someone like me?
I love so many songs.
Two years ago on American Idol, Chris Daughtry sang “Memories of Us”, that really touched me. I think that would make a good Wedding song.
And I’m gonna love you like nobody loves you
And I’ll earn your trust making memories of usI wanna honor your mother
I wanna learn from your pa
I wanna steal your attention like a bad outlaw
I wanna stand out in a crowd for you
A man among men
I wanna make your world better than it’s ever beenAnd I’m gonna love you like nobody loves you
And I’ll earn your trust making memories of us
What’s “your” song?
I’m not married yet, but I’ve found the woman and she’s found me.
One of the first times I drove her in from Moody Bible Institute to church, I was playing around with my new phone which is a media player too.
I love the song “Would you go with me” by Josh Turner, and so I’d downloaded it to the phone and was playing it when she came down to my car.
The friends which were going to be riding with us decided to take some other transportation and so we ended up riding alone together (we weren’t courting yet, she was slightly perturbed being left to ride alone with this guy she hardly knew). But she loves country music.
As we began courting and our relationship has grown, we’ve continued to hold a special place for that song: Would You Go With Me
That is a pretty song. I love anything Daughtry related actually. I don’t know who did the original off hand, but it’s a good choice. Thanks for playing!
