Our Independence Day
We had a quiet 4th of July this year. We had some tennis watching time, swimming, and cookout. Alejandra and Miquel played tennis. After that, a good American tradition over a fire, Smores.

Our little Rubà turned two today! Just one day after my birthday (I so wanted her to be born on MY birthday!), comes RubÒs special day. Rubi had a very sweet second birthday. We are so blessed to have her in the family.
It’s blue. Ok, I know more than it’s color! Ok, so we’re all a little happy for Miquel and Jenny. 🙂
Rubà was tucked into bed (Silas was allowed to stay up) and we continued our Christmas.
Christmas being on a Sunday, Miranda decided the children would open presents before the Christmas Eve Service.
Every Christmas Eve we try to have a nice family dinner. This year was a little different since Christmas was on a Sunday, we didn’t want to be up too late. So, we had an early dinner. We went to church and came back to charcoal burnt...
Last Friday, Solutions Fabricating where Enric and Jenny work, had their Christmas Party and Laura and I went to photograph it.
Laura decided on a small get together at home for her 18th birthday. Of course this was her third such get together, this one was just on her actual birthday. So Laura had a nice birthday month, and we had a very sweet Thanksgiving, and the Ravens won! 🙂...
Today was Lauren’s baby shower. So wonderful to see everyone again. Naturally, I took some photos. Lois said she might not recognize me without the camera gear anymore.
Yesterday, we went as a family to Patapsco Valley State Park (the Avalon entrance). It has been awhile since our last trip out there. This area is within the southern end of Patapsco Valley State Park. The primary entrance is located off of South Street in Baltimore County. Three distinct...
Jenny and Miquel went on a Bahamas Cruise for their honeymoon. I was given the task to scan the photos they had taken while there. So, here are some of them!
I had a ball at the reception getting to talk and be with friends and family and capturing some candid and posed shots of everyone. (Click on photo for larger image) Rubà was a bit of a show stealer. Mom joins the family table. Mom with Uncle Arthur Jim,...
Well I said I would blog in three segments about the wedding and have added a fourth, “the small details”. It occurred to me that I took some photos of some small details in the wedding worth noting. (Click on the image to open up a larger photo) The bridesmaid’s...
As promised, I have broken up the wedding photos into three sets. These are the Posed ones. At each wedding there are always the formal “posed” photos. Miquel and Jenny’s wedding was no exception. Where I prefer natural and candid shots, everyone seemed to enjoy posing for the photographer. Enjoy,...
I’ve had some time to recover from last week’s activities and work on photos taken at Miquel and Jenny’s wedding. I think I will split the postings showing the photos into three sections: the wedding, the reception, and posed photos. So for now, the first set. (Click on the photo...
Ladies and Gentlemen… Mr. and Mrs. Miquel Lopez Many MORE photos to follow! 🙂
Well the night before the wedding and after some hard work and planning maneuvers by Miranda, she held a sweet bridesmaid party for Jenny. First the some food and sweets, then presents! Next came a game. Miquel had already answered 15 personal questions and Jenny had to answer...
Today we met for the rehearsal for the wedding. It was rather emotional seeing Miquel with all his friends (weren’t they all just at our house yesterday swimming, playing video games, and having band practice?) and now Miquel is getting married. It was interesting, Donna, one of the directors asked...
Miranda chose to celebrate her birthday at Laura’s workplace, the Texas Roadhouse.
21 years old would seem to ask for a big party…but still dizzy from travel, Miquel seemed happy enough to allow his mama to get away with a small family birthday party. I suppose on his birthday, all is well as long as there are FIDEUS!
A few times in the past I have given to Miquel as his Valentine’s present, a visit to the auto show in Baltimore’s Convention Center. In the years past, it has been overwhelmingly amazing and it was almost too much show to see in one visit. This year, I was...
This Christmas Eve was special with Enric, Miranda, and Silas here with us. Jenny, back from school, was here too! The evening was sweet starting with our Christmas Eve service at church, and my guess is, that is when the hilarity got its start. Silas didn’t go into the nursery...
Our Thanksgiving was spent at Linda and George’s. Everything was perfect as usual. Anxious for food? And yes, that is Miquel sitting on poor Jenny’s lap! AFTER the dinner…Jenny and Miquel look done for! Laura is sitll alive though. Some just prefer good old peanut butter and jelly! Celebrating Laura’s...
Our hotel didn’t allow henna tattoos because they claimed that the ink makes a hard to clean stain on their interior. With that in mind, the girls decided on the last day they would get a tattoo. Laura’s…. Jenny got one with Miquel’s name… and even Donna got one! All...
I was sitting in the hotel room talking to John when my cell phone rang. It was the girls saying, “You need to hurry to the pier! The waves are hitting it!” The pier at Ocean City is reserved for amusement rides close to the boardwalk, and further into the...
After some rest in the afternoon, we went bayside for the sunset. There were too many clouds for a real sunset! However, it was real pretty anyway. Then it was back on the boardwalk for the night. We left Jasper and Dante at home, but someone brought their pet iguana!...
In the first time, in my adult life, I went to a flea market today. I think as a child I remember once going with Chris and her family, but as an adult, this was indeed a first. I went because Jenny and her mom were setting up to sell...
Our July 4th started with a sit-down family lunch of Tortilla de Patatas. With everyone’s tummy happy, we decided to get some tennis in before heading out to the harbor. Already happy to have spent most of the day with my two children, I showered and looked forward to meeting...
Yesterday was the first home game at Granite. In spite of injury, Laura was put in the game… Miquel came to watch, dressed in a Barça shirt. Jenny came too… Kevin and Nicole, too! We won’t mention the score.
Decorating Cookies We have Petra and Leoni here from Holland for the holidays. After a few days of some solid Christmas shopping, we finally had time to settle down, go to church for the cantata and break out the sugar cookies to decorate with Jenny helping us. We decorated mom’s...
Laura turned 15 today, and this weekend with some events planned and some left to spontaneity turned out perfect. Laura’s birthday weekend started with one of her favorite things ever, snow. That night Laura and all her friends and Miquel went to see Twilight She had a sleepover with Heather...
