So we decided on a weekend get-a-way. John got off early from work and we traveled south and west from Perth. It’s a beautiful area with rolling vineyards sitting against a backdrop of ocean and forest, pristine beaches, small country towns, and natural wonders. One of the first things we did was to go to Sugarloaf Rock at sunset. We were here in 2010 when I came with Laura, but never saw it at sunset.
As soon as we hit the parking area, the view took my breath away. I had forgotten how lovely this area of Western Australia is.
The sun hitting the rocks and the clouds above was promising a sweet sunset.
And here it is the rock they call Sugarloaf, surrounded by amazing turquoise waters, rocks, sea foam, and a bright setting sun with sea spray.
And just about the time the sun is going down, and it should be a romantic moment, off my husband goes to get a better view.
And right about now more people arrive and he accuses me of letting a fellow from England ‘chat me up.”
He should learn not to leave me in such beautiful moments. 🙂
Ah, that’s better. 🙂
