Some Curious Things In Western Australia

I’ve been coming and living part time in WA for 7 years now. Perhaps I don’t get surprised much anymore, but often there are things that happen or you see something that makes you just pause.
For example, a walk in the park isn’t the same as back in Maryland. For this, we even had a ‘park pass
But the view was nice.
Or you go for a ride in the country, and….there’d be dragons
Or a drive in the city, and ….there’d be sheep….on the balcony!
I wasn’t too sure about this bridge, either.
Desperate to eat something familiar and authentic, like Italian pizza, and off we went to the publicized Italian festival! The closest thing I got to a pizza was a few olives in a tree. They were completely out of pizza.
Sometimes it’s VERY familiar, like you never left home at all.
Or you ask what are mangroves, so you go “an hour south” after reading the pamphlet detailing a marvelous looped walk around a lake, and you get there 3 hours later, with a path that disappeared and these are mangroves. 3 hours. No loop path.
Even folding socks can be an adventure. For even after going through the laundry, you have to pick these out.
If you think that Aussies have a sense of humor, they most certainly do. They HAVE to have one. Good thing I do to.
