Scones and a 3D Printer

What could scones and a 3D printer have in common?

John likes scones. They resemble what my mother always made and called biscuits. Biscuits here in Australia are cookies. The whole thing can get kind of complicated.

I’ve been making scones for him for awhile now, cutting them out of the rolled out dough with a tall plastic glass, making use of what I had available to me to use. One day John said, “My mom’s scones had a design on the side.”

Awww…I wanted to make them like his mom of course. So I looked at his new 3D printer and said, “Design and print me a scones cutter.”

So he did.

That white round with ridges is my new scones cutter that John designed and printed on his new 3D printer.

It turned out great, but even so, I noticed he is working on a re-design of the cutter.

And he's definitely working on eating the batch of scones I made. :)
