Right after Mom’s funeral, Miquel announced to us all that CVS would be honoring Mom with their contribution to Relay for Life. I was impressed and honored that they would do that.
It was at the Community College of Catonsville.
We were parked at the CVS tent, naturally.
We were given T- shirts honoring mom from CVS.
Laura and Miquel quickly put theirs on.
The survivors went around first, then I joined them as a caregiver. I will never forget how many “I love yous” mom gave Linda and I. We felt appreciated. I took a lap and remembered.
Linda joined us.
There were many activities…like this water balloon toss.
Roger eventually misses!
Stacey stretches to get the balloon.
We decided on this hot day, the winners were the ones who broke the balloons and got wet.
Then there was some soccer…
Limbo contest…
Dancing to Michael Jackson songs…
Laura got her face painted, and I was like, “It’s OK Mom, it’s not a Tattoo!”
The sun started to go down.
Miquel plays soccer with a little friend…
…and his little sister.
Some footwork!
Jenny and Miquel.
Chris and Heather arrived, here Chris poses with Miquel.
Chris buys memorials for the luminaria ceremony in honor of her friend Angie, and added another one to the one CVS had for mom.
The Luminaria Ceremony was emotional. We lost mom, but I am glad others have hope and there is hope to fight and cure cancer.
Thank you CVS for this opportunity.
