Picking Up Jared
Miquel made a few good friends at Northland, but the one he spoke of most was Jared.
When Miquel asked if he could spend a few days with us I said yes right away.
Since Jared lives in New Jersey, they decided he would take the ferry to Delaware and we would pick him up.
The trip from our house to Lewes, Delaware would prove to be a two and a half hour trip.
As we got into the car, IÂ set the camera on Auto and told Miquel to get some photos for me if he wished.
On the first leg of our trip, I had to cross, for the very first time driving, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge . Now at 4.3Â miles (7Â km) in length, the original span was the world’s longest continuous over-water steel structure (when it was built)Â and a massive amount of water to cross, I was more than nervous.
After we finished crossing, I remembered to breathe.
These were typical scenes across Maryland’s Eastern Shore and Delaware:
We reached Lewes and soon saw Jared’s ferry coming in.
Up and back, Miquel couldn’t resist a few fun shots.
Like a Pepsi truck.
The Nike sign at the Outlets
And the reflection of the road in a very shiny truck.
Jared hasn’t been here long and he has already been whisked into the whirlwind that makes up our home life. A few minutes into being here Mr. Jim knocked at the door to deliver a table and put it together, Anna pulled in, Â Heather popped in with three of her friends and they all went swimming, the phone rang off the hook, and Lisa and Shelby appeared from the back out of no where to visit their cat.
Welcome to our nuthouse Jared. 🙂
