Perth Royal Show 2015: The Cakes!
When I return to the USA, I create a slide show that I present to everyone and we watch together on the TV. I’ve noticed that when they watch the section of the cakes from the Royal Show, it gets a lot of attention.
Here are some of the cakes and sweets that caught my eye.
In some cases, less is more, no? This decorated wedding cake is understated beauty.
No, these aren’t real flowers.
LOVED this one, a great idea for a baby shower.
I don’t know, I was quite taken with the chalkboard look on a decorated cake.
In a corner, off to the side was this chocolate dragon. I’d like to train this one, please.

A pelican cake. They were even ‘accurate’ with the wood post.
Really loved this one. Looks like a little bird house.
Who can resist a cascade of flowers?
They had macarons as well.
An Australian favorite, Lamington. A lamington is a dessert of Australian origin. It consists of squares or rectangles of sponge cake coated first in a layer of traditionally chocolate sauce, then in desiccated coconut. Lamingtons are sometimes served as two halves with a layer of cream or strawberry jam between.
There was a section dedicated to care packages sent to soldiers.
