Our Christmas is always on Christmas Eve. This year, from even the preparations for the holidays, it was looking to be different. Mom wasn’t well with her back, I got very sick, and a lot of the family weren’t well. There was a lot of people helping the other. Miquel learned the ease of online shopping. Only a day after picking up John at the airport, we were finally all together celebrating Christmas.
I was too ill to go to church, which made me very sad to start the evening. I immediately brightened to see that Bethel Baptist had live streaming of their service on YouTube and I got to see Enric, Miranda, Silas, and Rubí participate in the Christmas Eve Service.
A pose before church.
A hug for mommy.
A pose with Daddy.
My son is very distinguished and handsome.
When the service was over, it was time to have our Christmas together!
Enric is quick to attack the snacks we put out.
When we have presents, we always go youngest to oldest. So tonight, Ezra started the evening.
Ezra decided wrapping paper is fun.
Love seeing her so happy.
Next was Silas, very happy with his dragons from Yaya.
He looks warm and cute in his hat from Miquel and Jenny.
Laura’s turn, and she holds up her stocking. (Because none of my other children get one).
Miquel’s turn as Jenny watches.
Very happy with a soft Hollister Hoodie from Yaya.
Jenny’s turn. She’s our JLo wearing JLo. 🙂
Slippers, just was she needed!
Not sure what private joke was going here, but their looks are priceless.
Miranda can easily guess her present, a yoga mat.
Peppermint and dark chocolate, oh yes!
It’s Enric’s turn as Miranda is already sampling her candy.
A very thoughtful present from Miranda, a pillow!
Bonk!
Rubi was ever so anxious to give me this cardinal ornament.
“I’m going to learn Russian!”
What every Aussie needs in the winter, hand warmers!
A pocket watch from Mom.
A unique present from Laura, editions from The New York Times with pages of news about the Beatles over the years.
Last, but certainly not least, we were all happy to see mom with us in a lot less pain. Miquel and Jenny gave her a DVD of the Nutcracker.
A calendar, of the birds of Australia.
And because we have faith that she will rise to cook for all of us again, a George Foreman grill that you can put the plates in the dishwasher!
