I really loved the Vaughn Monroe song, with words from this poem:
- by Joyce Kilmer
Trees
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain,
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
I also loved the lyrics in “Till the End of Time”. Don’t we all want someone we can be with and count on till the end of time?
Till the End of Time
Till the end of time, long as stars are in the blue
Long as there’s a Spring of birds to sing I’ll go on loving you
Till the end of time, long as roses bloom in May
My love for you will grow deeper with every passing day
Till the wells run dry and each mountain disappears
I’ll be there for you to care for you through laughter and through tears
So take my heart in sweet surrender and tenderly say that I’m
The one you love and live for till the end of time
Till the wells run dry and each mountain disappears
I’ll be there for you to care for you through laughter and through tears
So take my heart in sweet surrender and tenderly say that I’m
The one you love and live for till the end of time
