Mia Moon

After getting settled at the convent, we headed back out. We went to Mia Moon Reserve.

There is a granite outcrop to gnamma hole. I think we were a little early in the season for the orchids.

Driving there you can see the bright yellow canola fields.

Arriving at Mia Moon we found yellow everlastings.

A hakea or a grevillea, who can know? Apparently the experts can’t even distinguish that easily.

A Pacific Heron took us by surprise.

The Pacific Heron has a white head and neck and dark grey body and wings, with black bill and black legs. No other Australian heron has these colours.

It has white patches on leading edge of the wings that are visible in flight.
