Listening to…Gilmore Girls!
I am nuts about this show. At 5 pm each day, all activity in my home comes to a halt. Miquel teases me as sometimes I insist we squeeze our summer classes between General Hospital and Gilmore Girls.
Like everything else, I missed this show when it first came out, so am watching the reruns in the afternoons. I am not sure which season I am in, but well on my wish list is the DVD’s of all the seasons. The show is hilarious. The dialogue back and forth between the characters in the show, seem too funny and too ‘real’ to be scripted.
Set in a storybook Connecticut town populated with an eclectic mix of everyday folks and lovable lunatics, Gilmore Girls is a humorous multigenerational series about friendship, family and the ties that bind. Along with all the adorable parts that make up this show, is its music. They sure have a mix, and the show’s opening song is Carole King’s, “Where You Lead”

Barb is addicted to a sitcom? Barb who really doesn’t enjoy television?
Barb who fell asleep while watching Harry Potter? (Not once, mind you, but twice!)
Barb who has never seen any of the Matrix series, Spiderman, Troy, Dances With
Wolves, Waterworld, The Sixth Sense, The Butterfly Effect, Gettysburg, American Pie,
Bourne Supremacy, The Chronicals of Riddick, First Knight, Gladiator, Shawshank
Redemption, The Family Man, The Waterboy, Secondhand Lions, Pearl Harbor, My Cousin
Vinny, Meet Joe Black… or even Lord of The Rings??
Admitedly, I knew about the General Hospital addiction but had chalked that up to
a desire to re-live the 80’s or something. I mean a Seinfeld or Friends addiction
would be totally understandable… but the Gilmore Girls? (Chuckle) 🙂
My daughter likes that show but I HATE that show. I find the snide dialogue between the mother and daughter innane and annoying. Sorry, but I just don’t see the attraction.
Mike, I do watch a few things now and then.
For the record, I have seen parts of Spiderman (I fell asleep through a
few of the other parts), but I have seen ALL of Spiderman II.
I went to the movies and saw First Knight, which the tape must have broke, so
I thought I wasn’t going to get to see it all (hehe), however, they managed to
fix it, and after a long intermission, I got to see all of it. (Which then got
me free tickets to see PEARL HARBOR, which I enjoyed.)
I also saw Gladiator at the movies, and really liked that film.
I saw Family Man at the movies, after seeing some previews and was glad I went.
Meet Joe Black video was rented and later purchased, and I’ve never seen it all.
(Yes, I keep falling asleep), but, I always manage to stay awake for my favorite part.
(He gets hit by a car which sends him flying, that is so funny!)
Good for your daughter Jeff.
I guess I am attracted by INANE.
I’ll back ya on this one, Barb! I adore this show, too. I love the quick, snappy
banter, as well as the quirky, colorful characters and the relationships between them all.
I’m guessing you don’t really like Brad Pitt Xerraire if the highlight
of the movie for you is to see him get hit by a car & find it totally amusing? I
thought he was supposed to be like the sexiest dude alive? That being the case, I’d
hate to see what you find endjoyable for an actor like… Joe Pesci!! hehehee
My apologies for slighting GG fans… just my warped language skills gone awry.
