My husband sure knows how to show a girl a good time. After our outing to Brookton Highway Nature Reserve, the next day we went to Lightning Swamp Bushland.
It sure fit the bill, with swamp like features and loud frogs croaking non stop.
But this place would soon unveil some gems with orchids.
Like these Pink Fairy Orchids. Standing taller than the ones we saw yesterday.
These were paler.
These were being shy, almost hiding behind a tree.
Apparently this swamp has its own welcoming committee, this Willie Wagtail.
A nice cowslip orchid.
We almost missed this patch of snail orchids.
A closer look.
Then we finally got to see a spider orchid, something my husband had just said he wanted to see….
Not sure if it was the sermon from the morning, or my husband got religion, he was quoting Matthew 7:7-8.
As we neared the end of our walk, we came upon a patch of Pink Fairy Orchids.
It was my Matthew 7:7-8 as these are my favorites. 🙂
As we left, we had to stop and take a donkey orchid portrait. 🙂
It was a sweet day, and I was delighted to have a romp in the swamp.
