After seeing the Kalbarri Coastal Cliffs, we went to see the River Gorges. (To see the photo larger, click on it).
What a different view from the coast !
Hawks Head overlooking the Murchison River.
Kalbarri National Park surrounds the lower reaches of the Murchison River, which has cut a magnificent 80 kilometre gorge through the red and white banded sandstone to create formations .
This was a trail. Oh yes, a narrow set of rocks and a long way down either side. No railing. No steps. Nothing.
Oh this is a trail too. You can tell by the marker at the top with an arrow. Again, slippery, wet rock, no railing. John is a brave man to take me there.
In spite of the dangers for someone like me, I loved all the formations we saw as we hiked.
Again, a trail?
Really?
Our destination, Nature’s Window
Had to get a selfie after such a hike!
Again, the formations are fascinating.
Walking back, we met up with this echidna.
We had a combination day of rain and sun, and all day of wind. But so sweet to see a rainbow.
A tremendous view looking down.
On our way back to the hotel, a lovely, country sunset.
We stayed watching the sunset for awhile.
Western Australia never ceases to take my breath away at its beauty.
