It’s HOT!
Have I mentioned Maryland weather in this blog before?? I think I have. 🙂
We have a saying here on the east coast, “It’s not the heat, it’s the humidity!”
So when the heat actually does climb, things get dangerous around here.
As you can see by the chart, if its a hot 96° F out and the humidity is at 50%, the heat index, and how the temperature feels to your skin is an actual 108°F !
Well, today I knew it was hot, and made the decision to go shopping because it was too horrible to do much else. I didn’t realize how blistering the temperatures was, until we got out of the car, and this awful smell hit our nostrils, and Laura said, “What’s that smell?”
The smell was the sun heating the parking lot. Miquel said, “That’s the smell of tar!”
Later as we were putting our groceries away in the car, and quickly doing so, I noticed my shoes were actually STICKING to the asphalt!
It’s hot!
🙂
Tar feet! Wow! 🙂 Yep, even up in northern Maryland it was blistering! ~Wendy
For the record, I had not seen your post about the extreme heat before I blogged
The subject myself. Don’t want ya to think I’m stealing your thunder Xerraire!
