Get Me to the Church on Time (part 1)
This date loomed before us with happiness and part dread. We had to be 800 plus miles to Wisconsin from Maryland overnight and back the next day to get the children back to Maryland, 800 plus miles more, in time for the vans leaving for camp.
When it was planned out months ago, it seemed like a total impossiblity. Yet, it had to be done.
Made worse by not having any sleep two nights prior to heading out, and not sleeping the whole night through, scenes with all this fog that we met in Pennsylvania and Ohio were enough to put to sleep even the well rested.
Most of Indiana was a chore as they are working on the roads, it was both a blessing and a curse to see the Sears Tower in Chicago.
Blessing, as it meant we were closer to our destination, a curse, as the traffic from there all the way to Milwaukee was bumper to bumper.
Yet finally, the reason for our trip. The wedding of Enric and Miranda, waiting radiant and happy to see us as we pulled up in front of their apartment.
I’m amazed that you were able to make such a long trip in such a short time. Don’t they give you some kind of medal or award for that kind of feat?
