We decided to spend our anniversary doing many of the things we enjoyed on our wedding day.
Five years anniversary and we followed the sand, although perhaps a bit too close on one occasion.
Our first stop in the sand was Busselton.
You can’t tell from this photo but Busselton Jetty is the longest wooden jetty (pier) in the world, stretching almost 2 km out to sea from the town of Busselton,
The water looked so inviting. This is a perfect spot for families to bring their children.
Castle Rock, where we were married.
Happy couple, but we really need help with selfies. 🙂
After all the times we’ve come here, I had a close look at the clear water and had to note, we’ve never swam here!
We went to another place along the coast and watched some surfers.
Ooops, lost the board.
We then made another stop. This is the view to my right.
My view to my left. Wait, what is that. A sand slide?
Before I could think what a silly notion a ‘sand slide’ is, I saw yes, it is a sand slide, with someone on a piece of cardboard slide down the sand.
The next stop wasn’t following the sand at all, we went to Simmo’s Ice Cream, just like we did on our honeymoon.
With flavors like: Almond Choc, Apple Pie, Banana Choc Chip, Blueberry Meringue, Bubblegum, Burnt Caramel with Salty Caramel Swirl, Cappuccino, Caramel Choc Fudge, Caramel Malteaser, Cherry Swirl, Choc Trio, Chocolate, Cinnamon Ginger, Coconut Choc Fudge, Coffee Crunch, Cookies, Crunchie Munchie, Espresso, Forestberry Yoghurt, Hazelnut Mocha

So many flavors to choose from!
Posing with our choices. (We didn’t order as much as we did on our honeymoon).
John can be a picky eater but he does well on sweets. I had to laugh at this photo, I look like I am giving him a warning look to not take my ice cream.
From Simmo’s we went to a different view of Sugarloaf Rock. Down below, we believe the people were hunting for Abalone.
We moved on down some dirt tracks and came to a place where there was more surfing.
Going down another track, a very sandy one. Our SUV got stuck. This was my chance to photograph an osprey overhead.
John learned, on this outing, that wearing your reading glasses was essential to 4 wheel driving. But just for kicks, we have now marked his front tires with red fingernail polish.
Coming out of a dirt track we had been on before, was this kangaroo. We had to stop for this one.
While we were stopped on the road so John could inflate the tires, I had even more kangaroos to watch and photograph.
This one was behind us, I had to take a photo of the sun setting behind the trees with it.
A baby having a feed in the road.
