Enric is 31

Enric, very young, on our way to Harpers Ferry

We have so many October birthdays in our family, but Enric’s is the one who started it all.

I am sad and sorry I can’t be with him, but looking forward to one of our silly and crazy family celebrations very soon.

Enric was the first baby to our family after a long drought of not having any. He created a lot of excitement on at least two continents. Gifts poured in from Holland and Spain, and two baby showers were given in expectation of his birth.

Even after he was born, he was the talk of the hospital, as I recall visiting him in the nursery and hearing total strangers point through the window saying, “Look at the Lopez baby!”

So, even though he is 31 (it’s already his birthday in Australia), I still treasure so many memories in my heart, even so,  I treasure most the man he is and wants to be.
