Distractions
It’s June 2nd, and we don’t even have the pool open yet.
Not to mention we just went through a nasty heatwave.
Our pool is surrounded by a LOT of trees which presents us with an issue the end of each spring, getting the fallen leaves off of the pool cover before we can even think about opening the pool.
During the heatwave it was even too hot to even think about working in the sun getting a ton of leaves off of the cover. Today was gorgeous however, so I went to work.
Or tried to.
A few wheelbarrows full of leaves into the task, and I uncovered a turtle.
Miranda, who was nearby, rescued it out of the pool and put it into the foot bath, where we studied it for awhile.
Miranda and Silas put rocks, leaves, and sticks with the turtle.
Only to find that one stick had a big spider on it!
Another creature to observe and study! Well that isn’t getting anything done.
Back to work, I noticed some very large dragonflies around me. Some are monstrous that I remember seeing last year too. This one, wasn’t enormous, but still rather big.
Well with all these distractions, I decided to give in to them and watch the family enjoy our little “animal kingdom” in our backyard for awhile.
Silas and Rubí were pretty fascinated by the turtle and all.
So was Jasper. 🙂
