Back in Maryland in the freezing temperatures, John and I get the invitation via Facebook from Georgie: Christmas Party combination birthday party for her granddaughter Louise.
“Yay!” I think. “We get an extended Aussie Christmas!”
Back in Perth. The present. 108° F .
“Ick,” I thought. “Can I even go and not melt?”
Well, there was never even a consideration of not going, only if I would survive. 🙂
I don’t know how Georgie prepared for this day in the heat, but she did, with a lot of wonderful details that only Georgie could do.
Georgie loves purple, so it wasn’t unusual to me to see a purple tree. Me being the Ravens fan that I am, appreciated it even more!
What could be more welcoming on a 108° day than snow out the window? She thinks of everything!
A cozy mantle over the ‘fireplace’.
Jeff and Jamie were there before us with Naomi. (I fell asleep and we arrived late). Take note, the little mini pool to the right. 🙂 Definitely a different Christmas accessory for me!
Jamie gets the glasses, well someone had to!
I am glad we brought snacks. Making a note that the boys like pretzels.
Georgie cools off. She knows how to live 🙂
So does Cathy! She made great pasta salad for the event, and I even got to take some home!
At night, Georgie’s decorations are lit.
The “fireplace”
Santa parachuted in.
Matt somehow played sport today. It was good to know, overall, I wasn’t the only one feeling the heat today.
So, I have experienced a little of Aussie Christmas. Georgie is so sweet to delay her celebrations till we got back. 🙂
And I survived. 🙂
