When Laura and I came to Australia the last time, almost worth the entire price of the ticket to me was coming to Caversham Wildlife Park. We loved it there and of course I wanted to go back again.
Kookaburra, maybe not as fun as finding the one in the wild like I did the other day, but this way I got a lot closer.
Masked Lapwing
Bush Stone Curlew
White-headed pigeon
White-headed pigeon
Bennetts Wallaby
Swamp Wallaby
Barn Owl
Then we came upon one of my favorite sections of the park, where you can go in and touch, pet, and feed the kangaroos.
Walking around, I came across this adorable sleeping one, it stole my heart!
It seemed a little annoyed with me, but soon it woke up. 🙂
He was even cuter awake.
And hungry, so he followed me to the food bin.
Last time I was too chicken to feed them, this time I decided to be brave.
Last time we also missed out on the Wombat, this time we got to sit with one and touch its leg. They are bigger than I thought they would be, although we were told this one was average sized or even below.
Having seen and photographed a larger one of these in the wild, it was fun to touch a small Carpet Python.
Not sure there were as many kangaroos as the last time, but enough to enjoy!
John pointed out a Kangaroo with a Joey. 🙂
Crested Pigeon
Eastern Water Dragon
Another kangaroo munching on a carrot.
So much to see and do at Caversham Wildlife Park. More to come next blog.
