Canon 7D is for the Birds

And that’s a good thing.

Canon 7D

I’ve had my eye on the Canon 7D for a long time. It’s been on my wish list for perhaps a year or two. However my Canon 40D was working fine and there was no way to justify the expense of a new camera. Until the latter part of last year, it began to slow down. I knew its life was coming to an end. I had worked it hard; several weddings, a few trips to Australia, Christmases, family birthdays, trips to D.C., Annapolis, and Baltimore. To use a phrase my husband often says, “it had done its dash.”

In as much as new things are fun, old things are comfortable. So the idea of a new camera was a challenge, but I have taken to it quite quickly, I still have some settings to learn.

So I have a bird feeder right out my bedroom window, and John worked at it over the holidays to make it look less like a bird feeder and more like a tree. So it now has more branches around it for the birds to land on, so the photos look more like they were taken in nature instead of the ease of looking out a window.

So here are my test shots so far:

I love my birds, I love my new camera. I love my husband who gave it to me 🙂 (Can’t forget that).
