Buggy Day
Before today started, I decided I needed a day off, to relax. The plans were to go to church, come home, have some time by the pool, and then watch the Germany-Australia match.
All went to plan until it was pool time. Before swimming, I usually bump the pool and clean out the basket. Upon lifting the lid of the basket, I found a very very big spider. I called to Enric who was on the deck fixing a tire on Laura’s bike. The spider was in the water and I thought dead. I looked closer and found many baby spiders in the water with it. Then I saw the spider move, it was still alive! As it moved in a circle, it collected it’s babies on its back. Enric was there soon and said, “Well, where do you want it, I know you don’t want me to kill it.”
We decided a nearby tree. I ran to the house to get my camera, and came back to find it in the same spot.
I of course, took photos with my NEW 100 mm Canon macro lens! (Right Click and select view image to see a larger picture).
Here if you look close, you can see its babies.
Later, I found these daddy long legs…
And finally, before I relaxed with a book to read, this ant…
Phantastic photographs…though I’m not sure if Leoni will ever dive in the pool again!
