There is a lot of sadness around being apart from one’s spouse. I know people in the military do it all the time. Often they don’t even have the ability of communications as John and I have.
Looking for a silver lining in the dark cloud of separation, and one of the perks is definitely the grandchildren. John was sweet enough to get Rubi a tee shirt that says “Born to Love Nana.”
I am guessing that shirt was as much for me as it was her.
Rubi in the Kitchen modeling her new shirt.
Even though John and I got Silas a few goodies from Australia, he seemed to play mostly with the box that John’s ring came in. Silas really liked that box. What is it with kids and boxes?
Rubi enjoys her Nana’s first day back with a snack on the back deck.
Oh Nana is here, so why not a cookie too?
She is having way too much fun having Nana back!
Still happy.
Well it looks like she doesn’t have much growing room for her new shirt, so I hope she wears it lots while she can!
Silas shows me how high he can go on his tire swing.
He was nervously high for me, but mommy and daddy were always close by.
I guess Silas likes Nana’s attention still, too.
Rubà also seems to be a bit of a daredevil.
Love to see her smile!
Later, Laura and I got to take Silas to Fort Smallwood park with us.
Some time at the playground and a snowball later.
I guess the children are very thankful to have their Nana back and very thankful to Mr. Dolphin (Pop Pop) for sharing me so nicely.
I feel so loved.
