Baltimore Auto Show 2010
A few times in the past I have given to Miquel as his Valentine’s present, a visit to the auto show in Baltimore’s Convention Center. In the years past, it has been overwhelmingly amazing and it was almost too much show to see in one visit.
This year, I was excited to have more Valentines to take, and we set out yesterday to the Maryland Auto Show. There were some noticeable changes at the start. Not having gone the past two years, I guess some changes were to be expected. One thing different was that free parking at Camden Yards with a free shuttle bus to the Convention Center was no longer available.
We drove in, parked on Eutaw Street, and walked in the high snow and icy sidewalks with a whipping wind and made our way to the Convention Center.
Here are the images of our day. (More images on my gallery HERE )
A blue Genesis Coupe took Miquel’s interest.
Silas liked the car that held the bikes…
The girls pose before they go their separate ways.
A red truck got Miquel and Enric’s interest. Perhaps all the snow around us…
The camaros were a big attraction…
Why not try a Vette while at the car show too?
Miranda shows Silas a rugged Jeep.
Silas got to “test drive” a few cars and trucks.
John told me to check out the Jaguar XK, which I sat in…mmmm it felt like it was made for me.
Close by was the Lamborghini, a car show favorite, for sure.
Miquel lets Silas have some fun.
Miranda picks a car, and takes a rest.
Ford had a Foosball table….
Our group puzzles over a truck’s stick in the back, what is it for?
Miquel and Erin decide it’s to help get up into the truck and climb up!
Ford also had the “Car of the Year”
…and a Robot!
Hank.
Which Silas enjoyed…
Laura got to try out a Mini
After a great first floor, our disappointment came upstairs. Where we are used to seeing two more whole floors of cars, British cars, owned cars, hot-rods, and a conference room full of Mercedes, BMW’s, and Porsches, they were not there this year. Nor were there any Dodge’s or Nissans on the first floor. An issue of the weather or a sign of the times of our economy? Anyone know why?
In all, thanks to family and being together, it was a fun outing; just certainly not what we’re used to.

Where’s the photos of the Subaru’s?…They are the only nameplate that had better year over year sales of any mfgr.
I missed those! They were represented there at the show.
