So after some time at the Golden Valley Tree Park, we realized it was way past lunch time and we had brought very little with us to eat. No problem, we thought, Balingup is right down the road.
This is not my first time going through Balingup, but this was my first time actually stopping (for more reason than taking a photo of a cow). Balingup always had its own little magic about it, perhaps it’s the way it welcomes you.Balingup welcomes you with these scarecrow like structures everywhere, the town seems to have always done this. This year of course, some wore masks.
The thing is, even though it wasn’t THAT late, Balingup was already rolling up its sidewalks. Kitchens were closing. So we walked around a little, like I said, this was my first time really walking through the town instead of just driving through.
We did have a look at a wool shop, thinking of Iris and cousin Pam in England. Both ladies do like to knit!
And that, this time at least, was about the highlight of Balingup.
So we made our way back to our parked truck, still hungry, but we had more of the Golden Valley to see. One last look at the scarecrows and we were back on our way.
