Christmas is approaching and in this household that means it’s TIME to start baking cookies. Mom and I thought this is something Silas and Rubà would enjoy doing. Did they!
When Yaya was ready, Rubi ran into my room to tell me to get the scissors, it was time to cut the cookies!
Mom had three spaces marked out, one for Rubi, one for Silas and one for us. She rolled out the first sets of dough. I was surprised how serious each of the children were and followed directions so well, after we introduced her to COOKIE CUTTERS!
Yaya shows Silas how to life the cut cookie into the cookie sheet.
Rubi then decided she didn’t need anyone to roll dough for her, she would do it herself.
She approached each step as a challenge to be conquered.
Now she was becoming a pro at cutting the cookies!
After discovering once you cut the cookies, and it’s fun to eat the excess, it was time to sprinkle sugar on the cookies, which Rubi also wanted to eat the excess. 🙂
Things started to go a little crazy, not sure if it was the sugar or attention span of young children, but the job of making cookies pressed on.
Silas, excited baking Christmas cookies. 🙂
Now to bake them.
Didn’t occur to me at first how much Silas would enjoy building the cooling racks. The children learned that cookies had to cool but soon got to have some samples.
Such fun!! Can’t wait to see those two!!
They are excited for their Nana Sandy and Grampa Keith Christmas!
