Back to the B&A Trail
Today the good weather took Laura and I to the B&A Trail. It seems like forever that we had been there.
The trail has about an 8-foot wide paved surface and is in good condition. The total length is 13 miles between Annapolis and Glen Burnie, MD. Once you reach the northern terminus, a short connector path will take you over to the recently completed BWI Trail.
The southern half of the trail cuts through some nice suburban neighborhoods. As you head farther north, the terrain becomes much more urban. The path goes right past Marley Station Mall before taking you into downtown Glen Burnie. At this point, the B&A right-of-way is taken over by Baltimore Light Rail. However, you can continue biking another 12 miles by using the new BWI Trail network.
We only went on a portion of the trail.
It’s rather flat and not a lot to see, but my camera found a few things…
Today I noticed that the walk wasn’t so pretty and there was a lot of public works being done…
A month later, after our two blizzards, snow still remains in certain places.
Along the trail, you go through different neighborhoods, from the opulent…
…to the humble.
We plan to return to another part of the trail some other time.
I love the B&A and BWI trails! Our family spends a lot of time on them biking and walking. My longest bike ride on the trail was from our house in Hanover around the Linthicum side of the BWI loop to around the 3 mile mark to Fish Paws for lunch then back home. My longest walk was in training for my annual Breast Cancer 3-day walk was 21 miles from Marley Station (10.5 mile marker) to the top of the trail in Annapolis and back.
Thanks for featuring these parks on your site, they are awesome and your photos are awesome, Barb!
The pictures made me wish Leoni and I could have joined you on your walk. With the sunlight on it, it looks very inviting!
