Abridgement of Freedom
“I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent usurpation.”
~James Madison
James Madison, our fourth president and one of the framers of our Constitution understood that when it comes to taking people’s freedom’s away, you must do it slowly. And where lately these changes don’t seem so slow, compliments of President Hope and Change, it definitely started out that way. Americans seem numb as to what is happening. We watch the TSA on TV and hear the horrifying stories, and even though see more than our liberties stripped away, believe what they tell us, that this kind of security is necessary.
The Progressives* view the Constitution as a living organism what evolves with time and changes depending on circumstances. Both the Progressives and the Founding Fathers view the Constitution as a set of handcuffs, but the difference is that our Founders believed that it was the power of the State what was to be cuffed, while progressives believed it was individuals who were cuffed to the greater good of the group. One of those two positions will eventually win out and that will dictate how future generations live their lives. ~ Glenn Beck’s Common Sense
This battle the Progressives could win simply because our children are no longer educated in History. They get a watered down version of how our country started.
*Progressive is not necessarily synonymous with liberals or Democrats. They are the people who seek to redefine, reshape, and rebuild America into a country where individual liberties and personal property mean nothing if they conflict with the plans and goals of the state. This Progressive cancer has infiltrated both parties; bureaucrats, lobbyists, trade unions, and corporations look to government as their personal ATM machines.
