A Visit to Fort Smallwood Park
Today Laura and I decided to take a walk at Fort Smallwood Park.
We saw a helicopter overhead, at the time we didn’t notice that it was channel 13 news.
There were these extra large dandelions on the beach…
On the same beach, a beautiful butterfly landed.
A crab washed up too.
There were blackbirds in the trees.
Then we saw this great blue heron.
and we took a few hundred photos of it!
It flew away, sort of frustrated with all the attention we were giving it…
Sometimes, Fort Smallwood doesn’t offer the best views…
Other views are wonderful!
As we were leaving, we saw the van for Channel 11 news, and I wondered out loud what would they be here for.
Laura, jokingly said perhaps there would be a news story about two women chasing after a great blue heron, hehe.
Later when I got home, I realized what the news crews were there for, to talk about a man struck by lightning at the park in yesterday’s severe storms.
