A Garden Walk

I guess I’ve blogged about walking at Kinder Farm Park many times by now, but rarely do I mention the community garden they have there. Yesterday, Jenny, Laura, and I decided to go to Kinder Park and take Silas. (Rubi was still taking a nap).

We couldn’t do the full loop as Silas isn’t up to it, so we went to the playground area which is across from the garden. I decided to take a closer look at what they were growing there.

I guess there are some serious gardeners here as there were more than a few signs of warnings.

A red hibiscus was hard to miss, it was tall and at the very front of the garden.

Sunflowers, a favorite of mine, and I used to grow them, but now I can’t as I don’t have enough sun. So, I appreciate others’ sunflowers.

An eastern black swallowtail butterfly.

A goldfinch that had a lot of options on what to eat next.

A dragonfly perched up high.

A bee on a flower, there were many!

Cosmos are another favorite.

Looks like a painted lady butterfly.

Many great southern whites in a particular part of the garden.

Buckeye Butterfly

Silas was patient and enjoyed the garden but was happy to also get to the playground.

Silas shows injury from some child charging into him by accident. Tia Laura reminded Silas he does the same to his sister! Teaching moment. 🙂
