Return to Manea Park

Last time we went to Manea Park, it was in October.

This time we would try Manea Park in September, hoping to get a glimpse of different orchids, and most of all the prize of Western Australian orchids, the Queen of Sheba. Someone in the orchid group had spotted one.

With hope in my heart, we headed south. I think it was a longer trip than John remembered. We didn’t get to the area with a whole lot of time. Being a Sunday, naturally our morning was taken up with going to church.

We didn’t get to find the Queen of Sheba, which must be well hidden, but we did find some orchids.

Donkey orchids greeted us, right at the entrance.

What do we have here? This one is rather new to me!

What could be happier than a group of snail orchids all at attention!

Sometimes orchid hunting is not about the orchids...or else I have a short attention span. Loved seeing this wattle bird on a banksia.

Another bird. This sweet fantail resting on a branch.

Oh yes, it fans its tail.

Well these donkey orchids were there on their own and framed by a tree.

We always see something new and exciting in our outings. Even though we missed the Queen of Sheba, I was very tickled to have seen the leaping spider orchid.
