Greens Verge Collection
Each year it is made available greens verge collection in John’s area. Years ago when I first met John, I didn’t even know what verge meant. Verge = a strip of grass or other vegetation beside a road. I guess we would call it a curbside collection. They are limited to tree prunings ONLY up to a total of 3m3.
We are lucky the weekend was cooler.I dedicated myself to be John’s helper, not willing to brave his ladder or tools with big blades.
It wasn’t long we had his entire front yard covered.
I attempted to trim his hedge. I had done it before in my old house in Moonfall Court, but Mr. Buddy usually came along to finish my job.
While outdoors and in good weather, I could take my time examining John’s flowers closer. This banksia was showing and begging to be touched. When I did, I have to admit that it felt exactly like a bunch of Q-tips in a box. I’ve decided to rename this flower the Q-tip banksia.

Around this time, we learned that Silas has hurt himself, so John decided we’d take a photo of John’s injuries sustained in the clean up in sympathy to Silas.
Done for the day, I took a photo from another angle in John’s yard by the windmill, showing the lawn completely covered,.
