5 Pesetas
When I lived in Spain at 18, I took piano, art, and Spanish Classes. I had Señora Camps for Spanish and her daughter Josepa for piano. For my art, I went to a gallery owned and run by Ramon. I enjoyed his classes situated in Sabadell, close to my favorite hangout, La Llar.
When my art classes came to a close, Ramon gave me a gift, this 1870 Cinco Pesetas coin.
Today, I was teaching Laura about our president, Andrew Jackson, and his deep belief in paper money backed by gold, and one thing led to another, and our discussion made me remember this coin that was a gift.
I have no idea to its worth, I am not really a coin collector, I do know that it touched me, to think that an Amerian in Spain touched someone else, and was found worthy of this gift.
