You’d think that we might have had enough of a wildflower or two the day before, but not so.
We chose Father’s Day (it’s in September in Australia) to go to King’s Park for the Wildflower festival that Perth has every year.
Find yourself in a carpet of wildflowers in a Floral Fantasy for the Kings Park Festival from 1 – 30 September 2016. Visit the world’s biggest display of Western Australia’s famous wildflowers from every region of the state without leaving the city.
As usual, the park welcomes its visitors with loads of everlastings.
They are lovely as usual.
I don’t think I could ever tire of seeing these beauties.
I love it when one everlasting seems to stand taller than the others as if to cry out for all of the attention.
Here’s a lovely change, ptilotus among the everlastings.
I always love to see these bell shaped flowers each wildflower festival. Darwinia meeboldii (Cranbrook Bell)
Darwinia oxylepis, commonly known as Gillham’s bell.
Book-leaf mallee (Eucalyptus krueseana)
Eremophila splendens
Pink Fairy Orchid (Caladenia latifolia) in front of a Banksia, oh yes!
The pink fairy is undoubtedly my favorite each year.
A flower I hadn’t seen in past years and I really liked it. Acacia glaucoptera, commonly known as flat wattle.
Qualup bell (Pimelea physodes)
Black kangaroo paw in front of even more everlastings. Just beautiful!
