2010 in Review
2010 has been an incredible year. For me, my blog serves me in a way to keep track of personal events, and our family had many this year.
January opened with the excitement of Miquel and his band, Embers For Ashes playing at Rams Head in Baltimore.
Not long after that, Christmas and New Year’s joy and hope turned to sadness as we lost our friend Margie to cancer.
Also in January, I also completed the website for new clients, Severn Gas Pumps. They are the nicest people and clients I’ve ever had. I also love their work and what they do in restoring old things and make them new again!
February brought us paralyzing blizzards and along with all of Maryland, our family was busy coping with the snow.
We braved the snow to go to the Baltimore Auto show, I took most of my Valentines out to the Convention Center, and our family had a great time.
On Valentines Day night, Enric preached one of the most passionate sermons I have ever heard on the subject of Love. His preaching of God’s word and the related personal stories moved many, and some to tears. As Enric’s mom, I was so thankful that the Lord is using his love of God and His word this way. If you haven’t yet heard it, I urge you to have a listen » HERE
In March, the passing of the health care bill permeated the news, and here at home we had our own health care issue, Silas had to go to the hospital for stitches in his foot.
April, even though there is so much “wrong” with our health care system, mom keeps defying the doctors and the odds, and celebrated her 80th birthday. In spite of how bad “they” say the system is, the doctors have been remarkable in treating my mom. She gets good care.
This month, I also got a new PC. I still can’t get over I have 8 gigs of RAM.
May. The BIG news in May is that Rubi was born! The whole household was alive and so happy with her arrival and when she came HOME!
At the end of May, we had a surprise visit from Petra. She got to finally meet Miranda, Silas and our new arrival!
June. In the month of June, our family were witnesses to the Peterson and Lamont Wedding. An event that turned very stormy and wet on us all. It was beautiful just the same!
Xerraire headquarters got an update with two new desks I saw advertised in Craigslist. They were free and I love them!
July brought us a visit from Flavio and his two boys, Lucas and Ryan. Also, I got a VHS-DVD combo player-recorder and I started to put my home movies into digital format and share clips here on my blog. They were so fun to relive and see my babies when they were younger.
In the slow, hazy, summer month of August, Miquel and Jenny, now engaged, asked me to take their engagement photos.
Laura, deeper into photography, started a website blog to have her own online portfolio.
Almost the entire month of September was about our trip to AUSTRALIA!! I had the trip of a lifetime, Laura had a great time. John was so good to both of us. I went to Australia knowing a lot about what I was going to see after so many years talking to John daily, but for some reason, I went with few expectations. Well, I enjoyed it so much, I didn’t want to come home!
I am still uploading photos of our trip to my gallery » HERE
Meanwhile, back at home, things were getting started on the addition to the house.
October, Australia came to US, as John’s sister Georgie paid us a visit. She got to stay longer than first expected which gave us a chance to show her a few sights and enjoy the richness of autumn!
November, brought us a more finished addition to the house!!
The month of December brings us, as always, together, preparing for and celebrating Christmas. Even with loved ones far away, we all seem closer. We have so much to be thankful for.
Barb, Quite a year! I have to say that the work you have done and continue to do for us at Severn Gas Pumps is greatly appreciated. Kathy and I are so pleased with the increase of online traffic. Everyone comments on the beautiful layout and design of the site you built.I have thanked Kevin several times for the introduction. Let’s hope we prosper in 2011 as we did this year. Happy Holidays, Paul and Kathy
Wow, nice to see how much you accomplished in 2010. Some of us could not even manage half of those – I just finished my studies and looking forward to the corporate world. So, hopefully 2011 should be better for us.
You have motivated me alot having seen your achievements, and we pray you continue in good health.
